Have you seen obstacles ?

OBSTACLES :

I used to get upset with the obstacles, with the time, relized that... Obstacles are necessary for success... as in all careers of importance, victory comes only after many struggles and countless defeats.

Yet each struggle, each defeat, sharpens our skills and strengths, our courage and our endurance, our ability and our confidence and thus each obstacle is a comrade-in-arms forcing us to become better... or quit. And when obstacles arise, the best thing is to change the direction...not to change the decision to get there, remember water...wonderful.

Each rebuff is an opportunity to move forward; turn away from them, avoid them, and you throw away your future...learnt other aspect of 'avoid avoiding', interesting indeed...

Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.

Do you talk to yourself ?

We talk to many people.... but we rarely talk to ourselves. We shall do that as well. I have tried and it helps a lot.

Devote Yourself.
If you look around, you will find many people walking around with a meaningless life. They seem half-sleep, even when they’re busy doing things they think are important. This is because they’re chasing the wrong things.
The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourselt to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.
Life Is About Choices.
Life is all about choices. Good or Bad; Right or Wrong; Your destiny will unfold according to the choices you make. Its in our control what we choose.
What You Did.
The world will provide you with stones everyday.
What you build out of it, is your choice…Wall, Road or a Bridge…You may even choose to do nothing. At the end, world will know you by what you did with it. Lets do something constructive everyday..

Why Kindness Matters !

Would like..to share with you an interesting story about kindness...

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door.

Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water! She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it so slowly, and then asked, How much do I owe you?'

You don't owe me anything,' she replied. 'Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness.' He said ... 'Then I thank you from my heart.'

As boy named..Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and humanbeing was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.

Many year's later that same young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes.

Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to her case. After a long struggle, the battle was won.

Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, and then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words...

'Paid in full with one glass of milk' (Signed) Dr. Howard Kelly.

Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed: 'Thank You, God, that your love has spread broad through human hearts and hands.'

There's a saying, which goes something like this:
Bread cast on the waters comes back to you. The good deed you do today may benefit you or someone you love at the least expected time. If you never see the deed again at least you will have made the world a better place - And, after all, isn't that what life is all about ?

Are we emotionally Intelligent too ?

Most of us think that a person’s intelligence (IQ or Intelligence Quotient) determines how people succeeded in the life. Is this really true ?

May be yes may be no..but in the last decade another determinant of person’s success in life has surfaced, which is known as Emotional Intelligence (EQ or Emotional Quotient).

The EQ concept argues that IQ, or conventional intelligence, is too narrow; that there are wider areas of emotional intelligence that dictate and enable how successful we are. Success requires more than IQ, which has tended to be the traditional measure of intelligence, ignoring essential behavioral and character elements. We've all met people who are academically brilliant and yet are socially and inter-personally inept. And we know that despite possessing a high IQ rating, success does not automatically follow.

Hey..what is this EQ....let me try to explain a bit.....Emotional Intelligence is all about knowing yourself, managing your feelings about somebody or something, handling relationships and understanding another person’s feeling or difficulties. These attributes are important for all of us to live a happy, contended and successful life in all aspects, as very commonly it has been seen that most of us put ourselves in difficult situations making ourselves angry, tensed & unhealthy relationship because of our inability of handling the emotions.

Emotional Intelligence comprises four broad areas of ability:

1. Self Awareness: Knowing how your emotions are affecting your performance; being able to make decisions based on your feelings; knowing your strengths and weaknesses and, as a result, having high level of self-confidence.

2. Self Regulation: Managing disruptive feelings, emotions, and impulses so that you can: focus on the jobs in hand; be flexible in handling change; be open to new ideas; be ready to act on opportunities.

3. Social Awareness: Being able to put your own emotional preoccupations on hold in order to be aware of other people feelings, needs, perspectives, and concerns. This forms the basis of a number of competencies, enables you to help others to develop, and increases the ability to read undercurrents.

4. Social Skills: Being aware and friendly and thus able to persuade, build bonds and collaborate. It is the ability to carry on a conversation and deal with others emotions. It is being socially competent.

Intelligence Quotient (IQ) & Emotional Intelligence (EQ), both types of intelligence are important but in different ways, expert says that the IQ contributes about 20% to the factors that determine life accomplishments and that leave about 80% for everything else. Research shows that for jobs of all kinds, emotional intelligence is twice as important as IQ plus technical skills. Emotional intelligence is more than 85% of what sets star performers from the average in any working condition and handling of relationships. Unlike IQ, which is something you are born with and can not alter, the good news is that EQ skills can be developed if you are really interested to excel in whatever you want to achieve.

Emotional Intelligence increases when people commit themselves to building practical competencies in the context of every day situations. Nothing can be more powerful than developing empathy skills during everyday interactions on the job or your area of activity. The best method to foster high levels of EQ is one-to-one coaching or help from other people. Sometime people that you dislike intensely will be your greatest helpers. Open discussion tailors the transformation process to each person’s goals, needs and circumstances.

Let’s evaluate ourselves to know what our EQ level is and how intelligent we are emotionally; we can certainly find our ways to improve upon our shortcomings if any.

All the best…Happy Life !

What is your why ?

A man may do the deeds of the people of Paradise, as it appears to others, but [in fact] he is among the people of Hell. "Acts are judged by their ends".

The words "as it appears to others" indicate that inwardly he was other than that, and that his bad end was because of an inward evil quality of which no one else was aware.

Or he may do bad deeds of the people of Hell, but inwardly there was a good characteristics which overtook him at the end of his life, so he had a good end.[Jaami'al-'uloom wa'l-Hikam]

Lets find out what is our why ?. Its important to have the good end.

What is Heart ?

The experts of Islamic teachings says....

Outward physical acts are not valid and acceptable unless they are accompanied by appropriate actions of the heart.

The heart is like the king and the physical faculties are like his troops. Hence the Prophet (PBUH) said : "In the body there is a piece of flesh:if it is sound the whole body will be sound and if it is corrupt then the whole body will be corrupt".

Lets check ours.
